My name is Chelsea Carrier and I'm a dedicated storyteller with a background as a film scholar, anthropologist, and sustainability researcher and writer. I’m interested in the space where culture, creativity, and environmental change collide. 

​I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Literature with a concentration in Film Studies and Medical Anthropology, along with a minor in Sustainability from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through academic research, creative media, and fieldwork, including engagement in global sustainability initiatives in the UK & France and local research from my hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I explore and illuminate how culture, media, and systems shape the world we inhabit.

​I believe sustainability is more than a technical or environmental challenge. It is cultural. The stories we tell, the images we create, the films we screen, the places we gather, the objects we use every day, and the futures we imagine all shape our values and the ways we live. These habits inform how we interact with one another, how we use and value resources, and the health and longevity of both the planet and ourselves.

​A sustainable future depends on an inspired culture shaped by art, community, imagination, and compelling storytelling. Through communication, connection, and creative expression, we can cultivate and champion a more sustainable world culture. 

​This portfolio is a collection of my work, research, creative projects, and inspirations, alongside the places, films, other media, and ideas that continually shape the way I see the world. I’ve chosen to share my passion for all forms of storytelling including in film and anthropological spaces and am passionate to dive deeper into sustainability in these areas.

​I’m driven to harness strategic and creative storytelling to make sustainability more tangible, human, and inspiring for the purpose of imagining what a sustainable, beautiful, and interconnected future can look like.
